Irish History Forum: Do the Irish hate the British due to jealousy?

I'm wondering whether years of bombing, propoganda and starving men in beards and platforms is all to do with the Irish insecurity.

Lets be fair, the Irish have contributed little to the world, whilst Britain basically invented life as we know it. Since Ireland's 'independance' strategy was seen as bullsh*t the minute they joined the EEC, (typical Irish) they have been doing rather well for themselves, taking giant handouts from Brussels, as Ireland has no industry other than 50 year old Americans buying porcelian leprechaun's for 250 euros. Whilst their neighbour, Britain, is a G7 nation, member of NATO, has the greatest army ever, am honest high standard of living, an economy which GIVES to Brussels rather than take, the greatest country in history, is doing rather better.

I'd love to see Sinn Fein win an election in Eire. I'd love any excuse to nuke that country.

If the person posting this message left their e-mail address, we inserted some random characters to prevent spammers from harvesting their address. Spammers do this with automated "bots" that constantly search the Web looking for e-mail addresses. Since you're a human being, not a bot, you can easily obtain the real address by removing the text that says "ThisisToPreventSpam-XYZ-RemoveThis." including the random number XYZ and the period at the end. For example, <whitten@ThisIsToPreventSpam-123-RemoveThis.despammed.com> would become <whitten@despammed.com>.
