Hi to all,i'm new to this board.i've been in some heated debates in the bbc/history site,it includes alot of irish history as you can guess, people still seem to wrapped up with their ancestors,celts,normans,viking,saxons...is their a case of people in britan or ireland loosing or afraid of loosing their identity...there seems to be,personally i think were all mixed up racially together although more celtic in ireland. now shooting fast forward to modern day in ireland,we seem to be closer to england more than ever in every way,our language is in dire straits, this i believe to be our most important point in showing who we are as a seperate identity,or is gaelic being revived realisticly??? theorys of saxon england are now being put to the question by english historians,if the english today were/are all germanic decendants etc...the saxons, this has been used in the past as propoganda in the uk,ireland has done its own share too. we are moving to a multi-cultural country, will gaelic culture be diluted even more, what state will it be in,in a hundred years from now? will the gaelteacht still be around? WOULD LIKE TO HERE SOME REPLYS

If the person posting this message left their e-mail address, we inserted some random characters to prevent spammers from harvesting their address. Spammers do this with automated "bots" that constantly search the Web looking for e-mail addresses. Since you're a human being, not a bot, you can easily obtain the real address by removing the text that says "ThisisToPreventSpam-XYZ-RemoveThis." including the random number XYZ and the period at the end. For example, <whitten@ThisIsToPreventSpam-123-RemoveThis.despammed.com> would become <whitten@despammed.com>.
